WiMAX backers positioning 802.16e as an alternative to municipal WiFi

For the kind of pervasive coverage envisioned by citywide WiFi networks, it can be argued that WiMAX is a better choice from a technical standpoint. One of the complaints about municipal WiFi networks is spotty coverage indoors, a problem that shouldn’t be nearly as severe with WiMAX’s licensed spectrum—especially with WiMAX-802.11b/g/n routers and femtocells arriving on the scene.
