When telecommuting hit North America more than three decades ago, many people predicted everyone would be doing it by now.
Instead, the number of teleworkers has dipped in Canada, and, recently, several prominent companies in the United States that were telecommuting pioneers have started calling some workers back to the office.
While telecommuting remains a staple of the modern workplace, the hype surrounding it seems to have cooled.
