Wired world helps reduce emissions

One analysis prepared recently by WWF-Canada and Bell Canada shows how simply making better use of already available technology can enable significant reductions of greenhouse gas emissions.

In the short term, the savings could amount to 20 million tonnes a year or the equivalent of taking 3.2 million cars off the road, which is 7 per cent of Canada’s Kyoto obligation. In the longer term, that could almost double.

Home office more popular than company office

About two thirds of Germans would like to work regularly or partly from home instead of going to the offices in their companies. However, currently only one in one hundred employees has the opportunity to work from home. This is the finding of a respresentative survey among more than 1000 Germans carried out by the Forsa market research institute on behalf of the German Association for Information Management, Telecommunications and New Media (BITKOM).
