Telecommuting brings big benefits to companies, staff

The Information Technology Association of Canada found employers can realize annual savings of $5,000 per employee by implementing telecommuting programs. And cost savings are only one among the many reasons why telecommuting is the wave of the future.

Telework and Home Office Health and Safety Guide

The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has developed a new pocket guide to help people work safely when working from home.

Designed and written as a practical workplace educational and reference tool. This 117-page pocket guide is filled with clear-language text including safety tips, charts, diagrams, checklists and illustrations.

Note: While the guide appears to be useful, I was disapointed with the $12 price tag. Not sure how you feel, but it seems to me that we’re paying for this twice. Steve

 

 

Waiting for mobile WiMAX

While Clearwire builds out its mobile broadband network in the U.S., Canadian mobile WiMAX spectrum holders are still running trials. Don’t look for service to start here until at least next year.
