Telework’s spread expected to offset storm’s disruptions

Roads may be impassable and parking lots buried, but at many Midwest companies, the storm’s wallop shouldn’t dent productivity. Instead, it’s expected to be a showcase of communication technology that has become part of everyday life— technology that could dramatically lessen the impact of this storm on workers.

A research study conducted by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and published by the National Communication Association found, “Employees who telecommute the majority of the work week are more satisfied with their jobs compared to those working mostly in the office because working remotely alleviates more stress than it creates.”
